"I did explore wonderful sculpture works at The Art Institute of Chicago. The best way
to self-learn/self-master anything is either by getting involved with it or by feeling it. But how do you get involved with or feel something that has
already been done? My technique is- by having a fanatical observation or by imitating it. I tried to study by imitating several masterpieces of sculpture
by drawings. That way I could take an intense look at every inch of the sculpture. And after spending about an hour or so, I am sure that I will have
a photographic image recorded in my mind and I can correlate that with my drawing to take another round of study without the need of the actual
sculpture.
The Art Institute of Chicago is a great place to study Art, especially if you are an Art Lover and work or live
around Chicago Downtown. The good part of it is - Tuesdays are free days and if you work in Chicago downtown, it is a perfect day to walk down and take
a visit. The best part of it is - you will get a chance to meet several Artists studying/working very seriously on the floors of the Museum. What else
an Artist needs to be inspired than a perfect environment like this?
Hey, if you are an Artist and happen to visit this art museum, don't forget to take your sketch book and a pencil/pen with you. I am sure you would be inspired with several master pieces and you
would regret if you walk in with empty hands.
